Aerial circus skills focus on building strength, confidence and body awareness whilst using fun new pieces of apparatus. This can be done as an exciting new hobby or to train towards becoming a professional circus performer.
Fly-Fit is dedicated to working with it's students as individuals, to progress their own personal goals in fitness, body condition and awareness, and aerial ability on the apparatus of their choice.
Fly-Fit Founder - Debs Richards
Debs has been a professional aerialist since 2007, but has been guiding people's fitness and acrobatic aspirations for nearly 20 years, starting as a gymnastics coach with Ellan Vannin Gymnastics Club where she trained in the Isle of Man.
Whilst training as a gymnast herself, she would coach groups of younger gymnasts to assist with their training, and help them get stronger and gain new skills for competition.
After gaining gymnastics coaching certifications and graduating from university, she went to French Woods Summer Camp (USA) to coach gymnastics and fell in love with the circus there.
Since her first taste of circus and aerial acrobatics she has been training and performing in countries all over the world, specialising in Aerial Silks and Duo Trapeze.
For the past 7 years she has been Assistant Director of Gorilla Circus Flying Trapeze school, coaching students to an advanced level in Flying Trapeze, whilst managing her own training and performing in overseas shows and online commercials.
Her Static Trapeze and Aerial Silks students have gained strength, confidence and ability with current and previous students going on to perform professionally themselves with Cirque du Soleil and Dragone. Others have taken up teaching, or have attained roles as trapeze artists in movies.
She has trained worldwide with some of the best aerial and circus performers, and uses these experiences and wealth of knowledge to coach students to the highest standard.
