The Static Trapeze is a taped bar suspended by two ropes and is a great place to start learning aerial skills. This is due to the basic shapes and inversions used in most aerial apparatus being slightly simpler to master on the level bar or using the ropes, than they are on the curved bar of an Aerial Hoop or the fabric of the Aerial Silks.
To begin with, basic positions are moved into and held whilst sitting on the bar, or you can also move to standing on the bar to do slightly more complicated manoeuvres higher up.
As you get stronger and more confident in your abilities, you are encouraged to try moves and positions involving wrapping yourself in the ropes and dropping from higher to lower positions.
You will start to notice an increase in strength and flexibility after just a couple of classes, as improvement will occur by merely attempting the moves.
